ShipRescue
A Shopify app by SoftArchium · on the Shopify App Store

Your checkout says "Shipping not available." ShipRescue tells you why.

A shopper fills a cart, types their address, and hits a wall with no button to press. They leave, and you usually never find out why. The cause is buried in your shipping settings: a country missing from a zone, a gap between price bands, a weight limit nobody remembers. ShipRescue reads your configuration, pinpoints the exact cause, and hands you the fix.

Install on the Shopify App Store

Free to install, with nothing to set up: the first audit runs the moment the install completes. The audit tier is free, and paid plans come with a free trial of up to 14 days.

The problem

Shopify tells you to check everything by hand. Some failures can't be seen at all.

Shopify's own troubleshooting guide walks you through more than a dozen possible causes (profiles, zones, rate conditions, markets, locations, inventory) and suggests placing test orders to find yours. Meanwhile:

The error doesn't name the cause

On our test store, three different configuration defects produced the same checkout sentence, and two produced no message at all. The wording on the checkout page cannot tell you what to fix.

Some failures masquerade as "Sold out"

We reproduced a shipping-zone gap that surfaces to the shopper as Sold out, with the item removed from the cart. Merchants chase inventory when the defect is a zone.

Silent overcharges leave no trace

A cart that falls in a gap between weight bands can be quietly charged the next band up. The shopper sees a price, not an error. The checkout completes, so nothing in your analytics or abandoned-checkout list records the problem. Only reading the settings finds it.

How it works

ShipRescue sells the diagnosis, not another settings page.

The app syncs your shipping configuration, simulates Shopify's rate resolution against it, and explains every failure in your own configuration's terms, with a precise fix. It never changes your shipping settings, products or orders. The one thing it can write is a draft order, and only when you click Send on a rescue.

1

Diagnose

Reads your settings and pinpoints the exact cause of every delivery-step failure, in plain language, with the exact fix and where to apply it.

2

Quantify

Shows how much money is being blocked: “at least $X in delivery-blocked cart value”, a deliberate under-count, never an inflated guess.

3

Prevent

An optional storefront widget lets shoppers check “can this be delivered to me?” before they ever reach checkout.

4

Rescue

Wins back shoppers who already failed: repair links that reopen their cart after the fix, and payable invoices for the abandoned order.

In the app

An audit that runs itself, and a cart you can test before your shoppers do.

After every settings change, the audit re-checks your whole shipping configuration (every zone, band, market and location, with stock levels refreshed nightly) and ranks what it finds by severity and how much of your catalog is affected.

Why trust the diagnosis

Built against a store we broke on purpose, and it found things we didn't plant.

We built a test store with eleven deliberately broken checkout scenarios, recorded what Shopify's checkout actually did for each, and hold the engine to that record.

  • Every prediction matches reality. The simulator agrees with all 39 recorded real checkouts from our two test stores (100%), and 4,000 generated random carts check that it always answers and never crashes.
  • It reads, it doesn't guess. On a live audit of our test store, every finding arrived with the exact cause, the evidence it rests on, an estimate of the share of the catalog it blocks, and the fix to apply, with the admin path.
  • It catches what you can't. We placed a 22 kg cart into a 20–25 kg band gap: checkout silently charged the $120 freight band, with no message of any kind, behaviour Shopify's documentation doesn't mention. Reproduced three times.
  • It found a defect we hadn't planted: one warehouse was set to never ship inventory, quietly stranding every product stocked only there.
  • Careful by design. When Shopify's behaviour is genuinely two-valued, ShipRescue says "verify at checkout" and shows both outcomes. It never presents a guess as a certainty. Before submission the engine went through six independent audits and two adversarial sweeps aimed squarely at claims it could not justify. And the money headline is always “at least $X blocked”, a knowing under-count.

Pricing

The audit is free. Paid tiers add forensics, prevention and rescue.

All three plans are live and billed through your Shopify invoice. As an illustration: a single blocked $150 cart a week is $650 a month of visible blocked value against a $79 plan.

FAQ

Questions merchants ask first

Is it safe to install?

Yes. ShipRescue reads your shipping configuration, products, locations, markets and inventory levels, and never changes any of them. Fixes are applied by you, in your own admin, with the app pointing at the exact setting. The single thing it can write is a draft order, created only when you click Send on a rescue so Shopify can email that shopper a pay-now invoice.

What data does it read?

Shipping profiles and zones, rates and their conditions, markets, locations, product weights and prices, publication status, inventory levels and which delivery customizations are switched on: the inputs Shopify itself uses to decide whether your checkout offers a shipping rate. On every plan it also receives your abandoned checkouts and orders, keeping only a one-way hash of the shopper's email address, the destination country, province and the first three postcode characters, the cart lines, any discount codes and the checkout token; it never stores names, phone numbers or street addresses. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

How is this different from shipping-rate apps?

Rate apps help you build shipping rules, which makes them one more place the configuration can break. Cart shipping calculators need rates to exist, and say nothing when they don't. Abandoned-cart recovery tools assume the checkout could have completed. ShipRescue is about the case where it couldn't: it diagnoses why the delivery step failed, from the configuration itself. In our own searches of the App Store we couldn't find another app that does this.

How do I get started?

Install ShipRescue from the Shopify App Store. There is nothing to configure: the first sync and the first audit start the moment the install completes, and you land on Home with the results. Every store starts on the free audit tier, and you can move to Growth or Scale from Settings whenever you want forensics, prevention or rescues. The manual walks through every screen.
